Central University of Karnataka Journal of Legal Studies (CUKJLS)

The Central University of Karnataka Journal of Legal Studies (CUKJLS) is an international, biannual, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing contemporary legal scholarship and jurisprudential research. Established as a non-profit academic initiative, CUKJLS provides a global platform for original and rigorous research that promotes critical inquiry, academic excellence, legal innovation, and progressive social change.

The journal seeks to cultivate a strong research culture among law students, emerging scholars, academics, legal professionals, and researchers; bridge legal theory and public policy; support the development of the next generation of legal scholars; and identify emerging, evolving, and under-researched areas of law requiring scholarly attention.

CUKJLS welcomes interdisciplinary and comparative research with a clear and substantive connection to law, legal institutions, legal processes, or regulatory frameworks. Its scope encompasses, among other areas, human rights, humanitarian law, environmental law, public and private international law, intellectual property rights, constitutional and administrative law, domestic and international regulatory frameworks, and emerging fields such as drone law, air and space law, sports law, fashion law, and martial law. The journal also encourages research examining international and regional conventions, inter-state policies, diplomatic frameworks, and decisions of national and international adjudicatory bodies.

The journal publishes long and short research articles, case commentaries, policy analyses, book reviews, theoretical essays, panel discussions, expert lectures, and reports of legal events and conferences. All submissions are subject to appropriate editorial and peer-review standards, with plagiarism screening conducted through recognized academic tools.

CUKJLS maintains strict standards of academic, ethical, and legal integrity. Submissions involving sub judice matters, material that may raise concerns of contempt of court, discriminatory or prejudicial content, unjustified political advocacy, or offensive material inconsistent with established ethical and academic standards may be excluded in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

CUKJLS is published twice a year, in June and December, and is available in online and print formats. The journal primarily accepts manuscripts in English, with American English preferred, and aims to facilitate the international dissemination of high-quality legal scholarship through an open-access model.
